Council services will continue during lockdown

5th November 2020

As the nation heads into a second lockdown, Sevenoaks District Council will continue to provide its services to residents and businesses.

Throughout the pandemic, the Council delivered its services whilst taking on new roles and responsibilities in support of the community.

However, in line with Government advice, the Council will be closing its Sevenoaks offices to the public on Thursday 5 November with the exception of face-to-face appointments for situations that cannot be dealt with in any other way.

Despite closing the office to the public, residents and businesses will still be able to apply and pay for services over the phone and on the Council website as well as making appointments to speak to staff.

Waste and recycling and garden waste collections, alongside other core services, will continue as normal.

Cllr Peter Fleming, Leader of the Council says: “The next four weeks are going to be hard for many residents and business. It is vital that the Council remains open to help the wider community through this next lockdown.”

“Council staff stand ready again to both keep Council services running and also step up to support the community they serve. Whilst our public reception will be closed in line with government advice, we are still here and very much open.”
